Socio-Emotional Supports
IS349 provides our students with a variety of social-emotional supports to help them navigate challenges and build emotional well-being. These supports are integrated into our school environment to ensure students have access to the tools they need for academic and personal success.
Social-Emotional Supports Provided by IS349:
*School Counselor & Social Worker: We offer students individual and group counseling to address emotional challenges and mental health concerns.
*Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Programs: We teach students essential skills like empathy, self-regulation, and decision-making through offering students Advisory class or Peer Group Connection.

*Crisis Intervention Services: We provide immediate support to any of our students in crisis, with access to trained professionals: guidance counselor and social worker.
*Family and Community Engagement: We offer resources and workshops to help families support their children’s social and emotional development through our guidance counselor, social worker, family worker, school/CBO family workshops.
*Mental Health Partnerships:
We collaborate with external agencies such as CSS/Interborough/SAPIS to provide additional mental health services and counseling when needed.
